New wheels, possibly...

Post by Si_GTi »

A bit of an impulse buy in all honesty, I've just won these on eBay:

Now, do I refurb and fit to the Polo or do I tidy up and sell on? I thought they could look quite tidy with a polished lip and colour-coded centres, or even just in factory finish silver!

Thoughts please!

I think I am becoming a wheel whore...

Tidy up and sell on. They are nice wheels but don't think they'd suit a GTI imo

I reckon they'd look pretty good refurbed in a dark anthracite colour fitted to the polo.....

Cheers

Best bet Si IMO is to just refurb them, try them on the car and make a decision based on how you think they look 8)

Silver centres and diamond cut rims would look good.

Hmm, not entirely convinced by them.

But with the price you got them for it's definitely worth tidying them up and seeing what they look like as others have said.

Oh and there's nothing wrong with being a wheel whore. I have 3 sets currently and keep eyeing up others!

Don't listen to them siGti!

These wheels have potenial. I think they look pretty poo as they are, but with some delicate refurb work I thihnk they'd be worth a look on your car.

My Gti is black as well, and I can picture them.... polished rim with gunmetal centres....

Not bad at all for the price you paid

I agree, there's nothing wrong with them!

With a refurb, I'm sure they will look brilliant.

i think i'm with a few of the others on this, get them refurbed, try them on the car and then sell them on if they are no good!
if the BBS didn't suit my car, i would have sold them on!

What offset are they? The listing doesn't specify and it makes quite a difference to how they might look on the car.

ET35, I checked the rims before handing over the cash

So they are: 4x100 - ET35 - 7x15.

Decided to refurbish the wheels in an anthracite finish. Similar to the "Penta" wheels fitted to the previous generation (I think) Honda Accord. Check this out for an idea, these are the Japanese alloys in question:

If it looks crap then I will move on to the next set of wheels

anthracite looks good on a black car. 8)

While were on the subject of second hand rims, does anyone know what offset range I can fit on the polo? Does it have to be ET35 or could you get away with 30-40?
