As the title above says.....i recently recived a black Vw grill badge from vagparts.com and its too small to replace my exsisting one on my gti i also bought one from ebay and its the exact same as the one i recieved from vagparts...so wondering where to get a hold of a black vw badge for my gti as iv seen a few gti's wit the black badge....thanks

spray you original one is the best bet! If you do a search you can find a guide on how best to do it, but its basicly sanding it down, primer and lots of coats of black spray paint.
The front badges are obsolete now so you won't be able to get one from vagparts.

i got a black 1 from vagparts this morning but does not fit my gti...was thinking thats the only option i have left is to spray it

The one you will have recieved will be for the mk4. Bryony is right, they are obsolete.
Your only option is to spray the original chrome one!

The MK4 Golf badge is the same size, although I think there is 2 different types

Nope! The MK4 golf and the 6n2 polo are the same fit,
I had a 1.4 16V mk 4 golf before my polo and the badge is the same one,

golf badges dont fit the 6n2 grill
they have different fixings for a start
it'll be better just to get yours sprayed
i paid a guy to do mine cost me a tenner in the end

That e-bay one looks as though it's just for the black bit, not the bit that clips in to the grille.
I have split a chrome badge before and the chrome bit is exactly the same as that.
