Who's working?

Post by dxg »

Who's has to work these holidays?

Didn't work yesterday, but worked all crimbo eve and all day today. Sent my boss an email at ten past midnight on christmas eve just to prove to him that I'd been working the hours I claimed, but - frankly I'm getting a bit fed up of it now. I was the only person in the whole complex this afternoon. Not fun at all.

Wouldn't be so bad, but my contract is "hours as necessary" which in theory is ideal (how can you be late if you have no defined hours?), but at times like this it takes the proverbial, somewhat.

Need cheering up, peeps. :(

Deek.
(Fed up and going to bed).

Not as bad as your situation DXG, but still pretty bad. Work 8:30am-6pm, 80% of the time with no lunch break and 1 Saturday a fortnight. Your also made to feel pretty guilty if you wanna take owed time off (!)
I was the only person in the Parts department on Christmas eve (worked till 1:30pm).

Not too bad but then bare in mind I live 50-60 minutes from home so I don't even get home till 7am :( Which ain't worth it for the wage i'm on at the moment

At least you guys have fixed hours and a set amount of work to do. In my game, you're just meant to deal with everything that gets piled onto you. The assumption is that you'll just find the time to do it.

Our government funders have called a steering meeting in the middle of January - a month earlier than expected. So, somehow, you *have* to get two month's work done in one, and that's not even taking the holiday break into account.

I feel like I'm moaning, but most years I've been able to find a day early in December to get my crimbo presents sorted out. This year, I was trying to get it all done last Saturday - so I know the workload's increased.

Thanks for your support guys.

Deek.

BTW Nelson, are you able to come up with a set of part numbers for the Polo fun/trek's front and rear bumpers, side skirts (both sides, door panels and sill skirts) -- and a price(?) -- not seriously thinking about doing this, but just wondering the cost would be....
