stereo vibrating

Post by mjmills »

Hi, i am sure that the answer is somewhere on the forum but i cant find a difinitive one, what exactly do i need to do to make the sound quality in my 9n better, i have upgarded the head unit, and the sound is much better at low and medium sound, but the cones on the speakers are crashing and making that horrible vibrating noise at high, or any kind of basey volume.

So basically, what exactly would i need to upgrade the speakers, and will this fix the problem, i know people on here seem to say that the vw upgrade ones are not worth the money, but if i get other speakers what exactly do i need, e.g. different wireing harnesses, speaker holders etc. Or if i get some pioneer or some other brand component speakers will they just work? if so what size do i need?

thanks very much in advance if you can help

front doors are 6.5" in diameter
i'd suggest getting an audio company to wire them in for you.
if not, you can wire them to an amp or wire them to the speaker outputs on the headunit
relativly simple if you know what you're doing

I wired in my 6.5" components myself, just cut off the VW Plug and put speaker terminals on instead, simple really. Though I did have to make some MDF Spacer rings for the speakers to sit on to bring them out of the door a bit. You can buy plastic spacer rings to do that job for you now though.

standard door speakers are better quality than most door speakers you can buy lol, unless you run them off an amp obviously, iv kept my standar ones running off the head unit and they r fine :P just get some components for the back and it should sound good :)

ah, ok wiring in rear ones, how hard is that likely to be, and are they component or just 2 6.5inch in the sides of the car?
