Opinions on angel eyes.....

Post by Black16v »

The next bits on my list to get are DTM mirrors and a tasteful boot spoiler! after that its angel eyes............

Has anyone had problems with them as i hear that sometimes they can stop working all of a sudden? has anyone had this? or would those of you that have them strongly recommend them?

Also my car is black so im thinking of going for the black smoked looking angel eyes....has anyone done this? how does it look? or do u rekon it would make the car too.....black?! would i be better off sticking to clear ones?

Cheers all!

I'm afraid it true that it needs to be lower. My old smashed Polo was on 40mm drop on 15's but hardly made any difference cos standard Polo's sit pretty high as you've already seen the pics on my 1st forum post. On this one i'v got 195/55/R15s now and once was lowered a full 120mm. I'v had to raise it obviously living in pot-hole speed bumpy heaven called London

if you can still see alot under the arches then the cars not lowered enough :!:

As for the Angels, I got a pair from Ultra which are a bit expensive but cheaper ones don't compare when it comes to quality. FK lights are good enough though and cheaper. Visually they look stunning and I wanted smoked ones at first too but looking at a few Polos with them on I opted out. Yours however, should look cool being black and the modyfying style you'v got there. Nice motor

Crystal lights also look great so I guess it comes down to personal choice.

I love my angel eyes, but its the black/red theme i am going for.

Problems are -

The indicator hooks snap VERY easy so mines are held in by bungie cords (pikey bas)

The light quality is s**t!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can barely see a thing!! Thats why i am investing in an HID kit to integrate into my angel eyes. But now the total cost of me having these would total almost £400

Also, the halo's will likely come in a yellowish glow, which look crap in my oppinion and you'll be better investing in bright white LED's

I love them though

Here's mine!

If you aint rubbin you aint dubin!! F*cking love it!

It definitely needs lowering yeah, im just scared sh*tless about how badly its going to rub if i drop 60mm. I know R1CH has gone down that far and not had problems but this is me we're talking about and my luck with stuff like that is crap. Everyone else would be fine droppin 60 on 17's but if i dropped 10mm i bet it would rub like f*ck and shred my tyres! its the kind of luck i have!

Plus ive got to go to my local place and say 'you know you said not to lower 40mm on 17's? well can i go 60? cheers!'. they'll think im totally insane! of course i could get it lowered elsewhere.......

I have clear lights and indicators anyway, they come as standard on 16v's so ive got time to think about angel eyes or a HID kit. lights arent top priority at the mo, just trying to get some opinions!

By the way Dee-vub, thats a f*cking fine motor vehicle you have there! im going for the black/red theme aswell!

Why? are you getting your car resprayed to red?

Anyhow, personally i'd go for the black angle eyes, i think the crystal ones look a bit too reflective for my taste

I quite like the yellow glow when it comes to angel eyes. Ive seen quite a few BMWs X5 etc with them on and they can look quite good. The only problem I see with the white bulbs, is alot of them dont look white, they look quite blue and IMO makes the car look cheap.
