Temperature Needle Problem

Yup it can have an effect on petrol consumption. If im right, the engine controls the airflow fuel and whatnot depending on the temperature of the engine - its an easy fix. A saturday morning task easily

last week we only just made 27mpg but this week we made 38mpg - same driving conditions but the temp gauge seemed to move more effectivly this week than last

Ye def the temp sender then. Would strongly recommending replacing it - youll have a much smoother ride

I love my car - the fact i get over 50MPG is amazing

Just replaced mine and apart from dropping the old sensor into the engine and then having to jack up car to retrieve it was a very easy job....Car seems a bit smoother now aswell
