Another clean one

Post by shantybeater »

Well decided to sheep it up and follow the pack, took me around 4 hours to do in the end

- Auto glym shampoo & foamed it
- Jet washed clean
- Chammied dry
- Fairy liquid and warm water on the wheels
- Used Turtle wax and its lipstick to touch up scratches on the bodywork
- Polished off wax
- Hoovered inside
- Vax'd the seats
- Cleaned the inside with warm water followed by Auto Glym Interior cleaner, buffed up nicely
-Auto Glym tyre shine for the finish! :)

Are they 16" RXII's?

Car is looking very nice! Crying out to be lowered (as all Gti's are) about 30-50mm.

Can't wait to get my alloys refurbed and give the car a good clean!

yup they are 16's....and i'm dying to get it lowered but it will be rather expensive considering i have brand new tyres on it of the wrong size

Have you got 45 tyres on? If so, does it scrub even when not lowered?

I've got some 16" ones which came with 205/45/16 tyres, but took them off for the refurb! Am deffo getiing 205/40/16's when they're done though!

Ideally you should go for 195/40/16's, they are however rather expensive and there isn't a huge deal of choice.

Yup they make some horrible noises on opposite lock and the backs do scrape at times as well, running on 205/45/16's, like redline said ideally you need 195/40/16's, gives you plenty of room to lower :)

Mine used to rub like crazy before I changed them. It was weird because when I first got them they were fine, and that included the 1000 mile journey to the Polo Show and back

Yeah whats that about? when I first got them they were fine but seem to have got continually worse....you'd expect them to get better

Wish I had some spare time to clean my car. Might do that tonight since it's a decent-ish day.
