Finally got my colour coded splitter on, looks much better now, shame I didn't manage to get it on there in time for the gti festival though!
While I was taking the old one off, I had to remove a front wheel to get better access to a screw that had rusted over. Thought I'd have a good look at the wheels as I didn't see them being put on originally and I found the reason for all the vibrating.
The wheels should originally have had spigot rings on them to fit properly as the centrebore and hub are not exactly the same size. Because the person who sold them to DeeVub never told him this, he ran them without and they were fitted onto my car without.
Unfortunately because of this, there must have been some movement in the wheels (causing the vibrating thats been annoying me for weeks) and the metal has been worn away around the centrebore of the wheel which means it is no longer circular. It looks like the only thing I can do now is get all 4 wheels redrilled to create a circular centrebore and then fit spigot rings!
Does anyone have any idea on a vague cost for something like this?
Colour coded splitter on and an answer to the wheel problem!
