Now I REALLY need help :-(

Ok I'm in a bit of a pickle. I have attempted for the second time to fit my door lights but I've discovered that where the wires go in from the car to the door, they are plugs unlike other cars where they are just wires and I canâ€™t run any further wires through the car.

Basically I looked at the three plugs that go into the car from the door and wondered if anyone has access to a wiring diagram, or better still if anyone could have a look? I would be VERY grateful! I would guess it's just a matter of popping off the rubber and unclipping the plugs. (Drivers side)
This is what my plugs contain so I guess someone WITH the door lights would have two extra wires somewhere. And I'm hoping the the plug connector on the my car has the extra 2 metal pins.

TOP PLUG: has 5 spaces (holes) but only 2 are used. GREEN AND BROWN (PIN 3) and RED AND GREEN (pin 4) are used.

MIDDLE PLUG: has 21 spaces and 9 are unused (too many different colours to write down, but hope this will help)

BOTTOM PLUG: has 4 spaces and 2 are unused. BROWN (pin 1) and RED and YELLOW (pin 2) are used.

Here's a pic it's not clear but hope it does something.

I came across the same problem when trying to get some wires into the doors for my new speakers.

I can look to see if I have any extra wires if you want me to? I doubt you have them though, knowing VW

Cheers mate that would be really great if you could do that. I doubt I'll have the wires there but if I just know where the extra wires are going to it might solve it.

As long as I have the extra metal pins on the plug on the car side I THINK it might be okay?

Or a way to run the extra wires through somehow

Scorpio, I have 8 unused on the middle plug, so just 1 extra wire!?

Well I have actually done it! OEM door lights and I added footwell lights too while I was at it!

Makes such a difference to the general ambience of the car when you're in it at night, worth it but really hard to run new wires and takes things off etc
