Got my GTi remapped

Post by J-GTi »

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D Thats what I'v looked like since yesterday!!!

It's not hugely quicker but it is ALOT smoother and more responsive through the rev range!

Should get better over the next few days as the ecu adapts itself to the new settings.

So if your thinking of getting it done.... DO IT!

As far as I know, you can remap it and it will probably be a better drive, but theres not much bhp increase.

@ ticki : No didn't have to send it in he just popped it out and did it there and then took around 2 or 3 hours though.

@ bhp addict : It's not as easily remapable as the 1.8t for instance as most of them can be done through the OBD port (the little purple thing underneath your ashtray).

In the 6n2 Polo GTi the ecu has to come out and a new chip is soldered inplace of the old one takes time but it's worth it in the end!

Just got the BMC on at the moment but he's mapped it for a manifold and a full SS system! But once I have it all on he'll look at the map again.
