A couple of things I have noticed....

The first one is to do with the auto lock feature. When the car is locked and you unlock it, within 30 seconds or so it will re lock itself, unless you open the drivers door, then it stays unlocked.

However, I have found the auto lock feature will lock the doors even if you open and close the passenger door or leave it open.

Second is if the car is locked and you press the lock button on the remote fob it turns off the double locking, and if you press it again it turns double locking back on

Can anyone confirm if their car does the same, or have I a problem somewhere?!

My Fabia vRS has the same feature, but if you open the passenger doors at all the doors stay unlocked. With the double locking it should be within a time limit of around 3 seconds for you to be able to turn off the deadlocks by locking twice.

Also if you have the std alarm fitted, if you unlock the door on the key (not the fob) and open the door, you have 30 seconds to start the engine or the alarm will go off.

Correct, our 9n does this

Something wrong here - once either door or the boot is opened and/or closed again our car will not lock itself again.

Our 9n does this but I'm not quite sure why!

You might also want to check the auto boot locking:
Unlock the boot only with the middle button on the zapper. Check that only the boot is unlocked.
Open the boot, pretend that you are putting the shopping in.
Close the boot making ABSOLUTELY sure that you have the key in your hand and haven't dropped it into the boot !
The boot should now re-lock itself while you pretend to take the shopping trolley back.
Also if you unlock the boot with the zapper and don't open it the car should re-lock itself.
I should think that if you can't resolve number 2 then you need the car plugging into a VW diagnostic computer - this should be a warranty job.
Just another thought - have you added anything to the interior light/locking circuits which might be confusing the car's brain?

Well the strange thing is the passenger door when opened will still trigger the alarm/put on the interior lighting.

I have added door lights, but I doubt this could be the cause as nothing else has gone wrong and when I was installing them I disconnected my new wires and it was still the same. I'll have to look into it, maybe it's always done this and I never noticed
