lowered suspension

want to lower the ride height a bit, dont want coilovers, or a rock hard ride, i am old an my fillings will fall out, any advice will be great

40mm on springs & shocks would be reasonable..i find the suspension on the gti rough as it is!

haha doesnt mean I plan on going that low, i'm looking at the 75/55 kit on clubpolo, running 16's so cant go much more

you would be better off with coilovers because you don't have to go that low and you can adjust the ride hight to what you want!

i'm tempted as there is a set for not much more....but how easy is it to change the ride height? I mean really! for someone that has only the tool box that came with the car

when you first get them easy! just wind or unwind the screw, once they have been on for 3 years like mine..... no chance!

If you keep them clean from dirt and debris, and regularly oil them up, you can adjust them later in life... not that you will

Steve, go for a fully ride- and height-adjustable kit from the likes of H&R or better still KW and you will be able to adjust the ride comfort as well as the height. Both kits have good reviews from members on these boards.

I'm running FK Konigsports (the stainless-steel-plated type) and have no complaints. I feel every single bump in the road of course but it isn't any more uncomfortable over the average British road than the standard setup. Just keep 'em peeled for those potholes!

thanks for the advice, am going to stick a set of eibach springs on, as i have these on my golf gti and the ride is great plus the car has only done 27000 miles so might as well get some use out of the shocks, then its koni time when they are done

if you want i can get you a set... are you after the Pro-Kit or Sportline springs?

how much including postage, as i live in Northern Ireland, want to lower the car by about 40mm, whats the difference in the two sets,is the sport kit harder, or just lower ?
