How about (assuming the badge splits) painting the VW red and the middle black or vice versa?

hmm, thats an interesting idea mate! would certainly look different!

the badge does split as far as i'm aware, and the back is already black, so could do the front red! what about the front badge?

the reason i was leaving the badges was to emphasis its a VW! and, if i were to say get a chrome exhaust, there was something else chrome on the car! was also thinking, if i were to go a bit retro, i might put some of that chrome tape around the bumpers (between the black and red!)

what do you guys reckon?

Worth trying another photoshop, although it will be difficult to get the right effect. Anybody reckon they can do it? I think it could look good.

If you're going for black, red & chrome theme then maybe some chrome door handles. Might work... :)

I'd go with the more stealth approach, no chrome for me!

Mainly because I'm not quite sure it looks old enough to pull off the retro look, but experimentation is all part of the fun :)

It would certainly be a bit "out there" but i think with the small sized wheels, it may look pretty retro! will need a few more touches but i think it might work! i just don't want it to look tacky!

i'm a man of stealth, always wanted to stealth motor, but with the colour of the car, and the way it is, i don't think stealthy will work, especially without a VR6 under the bonnet!

not so sure about the chrome door handles, think i'll stick to black ones. i have seen some mk4 polo ones on a vento so i may look into that!

Update!

a few small aditions to the vento of late! Fitted numberplate surround to the front (havent' done the back one yet :? ). headlight protectors, chrome door pulls, Mk4 golf gear knob and gaitor. wolfsburg sticker to the rear, and today i painted the grill black!

Thoughts and opinions welcome! still saving for coilies but would imagine a 70mm drop might be on the cards!

ok, haven't updated this is quite some time now! infact, its been bloody ages!

the car has turned into a work horse! it has moved me into my flat in southampton! the boot has been very useful! infact, you can actually fit a 2 meter tall box in the car! :P

shes had a new exhaust as the old one got a hole in it, just before xmas, so got it sorted at xmas by which time the back box had actaully seperated itself from the rest of the exhaust! bwwwaaaap! lol

so got that sorted, and with some Votex indicator covers, and a drilled airbox and K&N panel filter, thats as far as shes got really. i'm not sure what i'm going to do with the old girl, obviously some serious lowerage is required, but as i'm scarpping the splitter coming out of the drive already, can i really lower it that much? that and the huuuuge speed bumps around here, i think i actaully bottomed out the car on one the other day! i'm thinking of putting it back to standard and saving up for something a bit newer! plus, i got bad backache when driving long distances

so here are a couple of pics for your entertainment:

Only just found this little progress thread, looking great Doug!!

But if your considering selling up mate, I think now is the time to do it.

Before you spend any more money on it, or get too attached.

Either that or stop beating around the bush and get it slammed! 8)
