Apologies for the lack of pictures but here's a run through of how I did it.
Best bet is to buy a new badge.
Tools Needed
New Rear Badge
Stanley Knife
Slotted Screw Driver
Masking Tape
Plastic Primer
Paint
Laquer
1: Take off sticky pad from the back of the badge
You'll then see 6 rivets holding the chrome VW sign on.
2: I used a stanley knife and slotted screw driver to cut and remove just enough for me to get the front off.
3: With Wet and Dry paper smooth down the surface to be sprayed, I used 240g followed by 400g then 800g then 800g wet.
4: Mask the rubber bit around the edge to avoid painting that, then spray it with your plastic primer, leave to dry then give it another coat.
5: This is up to you, but I gave it a gentle rub with 800g wet and dry to smooth it a bit more.
6: Spray with your desired colour, making sure it's all covered evenly
7: Repeat step 6 until your happy
8: Spray with laquer, leave to dry and coat it again.
9: Stand back and admire your work
It's all up to you how many coats of primer, paint and laquer you want, but generally 2-3 should be enough.
