Hi Guys! How do I open my bonnet?

Post by MrsW »

I'm new to this site. Anyway... I bought a Polo Fox 3dr hatch yesterday(hmmm) and went to check the oil today but couldn't find the bonnet release catch. Yes, before you all ask, I am blonde, thanks! I have looked everywhere and have come to the conclusion that VW don't want anyone to look under the hood! But I know it opens as the guy who sold it to me opened it really quickly. grrr...
Any suggestions anyone?... (be polite now!!)...

You're a star! Thanks so much for for your reply. Honestly I'm such a girl when it comes to this sort of thing, and I felt like a right muppet asking such an obvious question! I can usually figure it out bit this just stumped me! I'll go and have a look tomorrow (kids in bed and car down the road!! lol)
Oh, I'm in Brixham.

Yay! Devon and a girl! hehe.

And you gotta lift the bonet up a bit as you release the catch  hehe sorry.

Also Make sure you shove the bonnet release back in if it doesnt do so automatically (mine doesnt) else you wont beable to shut it again. My dad couldnt even work that one out....and people wonder why i joined a forum!

Let see the car then! :)

Hiya, Sorry for delay in replying! 3 kids, end of SAT's week at school and 4 parties (any parents out there will know what I mean!lol)! I am officially shattered! Roll on Half-Term, that's all I can say!

Anyway, yep, got the bonnet open (they hid that catch real well didn't they? black handle, black carpet and then tucked away in the dark??grrr
), the oil is good, the car is running fine (hamsters working well!lol), well all except the kids moanin about the lack of extra doors and havin to wait to get out of the car!! Oh and hitting my head getting out! Know where I can get a crash hat?

Many thanks to you all who have helped me locate it, really do appreciate it. :D

I will try to post a pic of the car soon. I'm not very good at that sort of thing but will have a go! Have a great weekend all you out there!
