boot release

Post by polo pete »

alright mate. ive just flushed mine. i work in a body shop and me and one of the panel beaters did it. what we did was ok a old solenoid out of scrap car door and attached that to the lock by the means of a piece of thick gas welding wire. by the means of powering it i just used the rear wiper positive and negative wires so that to open it all you have to door is press the wiper stalk in to open the boot. this saves on having to add extra switches etc. the only this is once you have opened the boot, switch of the ignition to reset the rear wiper so that it does keep trying to open. if you like that i idea lety me no and ill post pics. you could pic up a solenoid on ebay or a scrap yard for next to nothing. hope it helps

the only problem with using the rear wiper to power/switch the solenoid is if you catch it by mistake when driving = open boot

I used the spare switch on my Clifford alarm remote.
