It was then placed at the rear of the car and lines were scribed as to its location. The arch inner lip was then bent 180degrees so it poked out beyond the car. All was then ground back ready for welding.
The new 'arch' was then tacked and then seam welded to the body of the car, the underside was tacked to the lip that was pulled out.
A liberal coating of filler was then applied
This was then sanded back and shaped to the basic shape i wanted. We're still a little unsure as to what to do with the bumper, but have a couple ideas floating round. We've only done the drivers side today, but now we know what we're doing the passenger side shouldn't be so bad. Hopefully have it all finished tommorrow. This side needs another light skimming and a few minor touches here and there, but you get the idea...
The idea was to make it look like a standard arch, and i think thats been achieved. I think when its all finished and white, you won't really notice they're over an inch wider than they were!
