How low is the drop??

And what size are the wheels??

James.
how low? can't say really, I guess around 10cms. Haven't really measured it yet.
The wagners are 16inch. At the front they are 8,5" wide, with et 23. At the back they are 9" wide with et 17. (to be correct)

Without widening the bodywork they stick out a bit more than half an inch at the back... looks very cool then :P

They are smart wheels but we could never have them as our MOT regulations do not allow wheels and tyres to extend beyond the bodywork.

We could of course use wheel arch extensions but then it'd spoil the excellent standard look of the 9n. It'd also take me an extra hour to get into work in the morning if I had your suspension but speed bumps i go over in the morning are massive.

Just goes to show how lucky you really are in Europe.

Don't think we are lucky just yet. I am illegal on the road the way my polo is right now. In Belgium nothing is allowed, not even lowering springs, unless it has been placed and Ok-d by D'ieteren and VW...

My bodywork has been widened, but that doesn't mean anything. My wheels are too big, too wide, my tyres are too stretched, my kw suspension doesn't pass, although it's got TUV, ...

When I get in an accident like this, when cops pull me over, when cops decide to take me to the controll center,... in either situation, I'm screwed bigtime..

In Germany it's an entire different situation. They have TUV. I want that too. My car is 100% TUV proof, but in Belgium that doesn't count.. :?

gives you an idea of what we have to deal with...

Ahh well you may be illegal but it's still a smart looking ride. Can you confirm? is it also correct that you cannot tune the engine in Belgium, just exhaust and air filters are allowed.

I was thinking of dropping my car after i get my 17s by 70 and 65mm front and back. But it's hardly ever just me in the car so with 3 or 4 people in the car, speed bumps must be a problem. Does anyone have any tips for me when the time comes.

Maybe I could shed a few excess pounds :D

Polo's have short overhangs, so most speedbumps with a longer runup are no problem - depends on the shape of course. The bump that I come across every day when I leave the house is steep and high, the steepness makes the front lip scrape. Other than that the engine itself is fine.

Good advice? Rock Hard dampers.
