Post by mk4_bandit »

Ive just broke my lock on my door, so it needs replacing,

anyone know if the handle, lock mechanism and central pump thing from a 97 polo will fit into a 99 polo??

cheers

It should fit no problem - they are the same mechanically and aesthetically so it shouldnt be a problem - its only 2 years not like 10 :P

Thats true but their was a change in lock components in 97 so thats why it might be different?

Ive been into vw and asked them what they would do and they have no idea (no suprise there) and the bloke at my local scrappy said it might fit with a few modifications, but he wasnt sure either.

I'd say a late 97 model should be fine - regardless, a scrappy should have the various bits you need to make it work from maybe even a 99 or 98 polo :) I can take a look down my local if you want?

Dont worry mate, ive asked around. It'll defanitley fit if its the later 97 model but also if its the early one it will fit with some modifications.

thanks for the help :P
