FIS multifunction display

Post by daa709 »

Hey,

Does anyone know anything about fitting a multifunction display dashboard to a Polo without one?

Would be good if we could get some stuff together so other poeple can do the same mod too (it does sound very nice being able to know what mpg you're really doing!)

Thanks
Dave

i did find one company (JBS autos i think), and they said it can be done, should be a straight swap then enabling the ECU to know its there, but they said it would be near the £1000 mark!! I dont believe that, if anyone knows where vag parts could be found, then surely one could get the dashboard then tell the ECU its there using vag-com..?

Does anyone know at least the part number for the dashboards (namely the one with the multifunction display)?

I did ring up VAG parts and they said they're not allowed to supply me with a dash as there are security issues involved!!

Grr. Anyone else wanna give them a try?

Oh then I rang VW and they just laughed at me. I'm not in a good mood with them, my light broke and they suggested superglue and handed me a roll of cellotape

looking at the spec of both of them cars it looks to me like they have had the cars built with them.
It was an optional extra on the 9n3 as i nearly went for it.
If i remember correctly it was about £1300 extra.

I though the multfunction display was £80 extra!

Its in the book as "MF Computer" will have a look later though.
I am sure the £80 was for cruise control, but you had to buy the MF Computer before the cruise control would work.

that's a lot of cash - although it should be pretty easy if some 9N3s came with it as standard.....
