second one looks like a fog light power connector, but im not too sure of where that is from your description. The connector would normally be down the right/left of the engine closest to the grilles.

i have no abs so that explains that one lol...

As for the 2nd pic down...its not the brake reservoir, that'd be on the drivers side of the bay, the connector in the 2nd pic is on the passengers side.

As for the 3rd, if you mean that to be the brake reservoir...nope...i already plugged that one in, lol. This one goes to something on that side of the scuttle...
has three colours- red, brown and red/lilac.

anyone know what other fancy pants stuff the gti came equipped with which i probably dont have, i.e. climatronic (but i have a 1.4 16v mpi mk5 interior loom)...

the loom came out of a W reg...vin code was:

WVWZZZ6NZYY5605316.

If that helps in any way, the car was written off in 2005 so is long gone...

Has no one with a gti got this connector they can take a photo for me?

Well take as many photos of each part of the bay as you can...the more the merrier...i'll need all the help i can get.

Cheers again! Sanj.

what loom did you go for internally then?? and did you not swap out the fusebox to engine loom (ecu) for the GTI one?

its really easy to change them mate...let me know if theres more plugs you come accross that you don't know.
Haynes is bloody s**t!! they needed a wiring diagram for the GTI's!!!
I also noticed a few wire colours were wrong in there for the other mk5's for certain things.

Is there a special bracket behind the bumper that the temp sensors fit onto?? they're just dangling right now.

I'll get photos up later of my car. :D

Right then, no pics as there's no need. Both wires go into the scuttle panel. No.2 is for the heated washers, no 3 is for the alarm siren. So wouldnt worry about either.

Regarding the mount, there's a bit plastic thing that goes over the gearbox, carrying all the loom. It has clips on the bottom of it for the plugs.
