Bettys drinking fuel (ie 17mpg on average  )

ive been told to change my temp sensor or something but ive noticed this week shes running at temp everytime i drive (so atm ive ruled that out as the major issue!)

I do have a dead spot every now and again, i dont have induction, exhaust etc and i dont rag her

i dont think its pouring out the bottom either

oh and ive got the correct tyre pressures!!

anymore suggestions?

I would change the temp sensor its cheap enough they are a bit dogey, I would check the back brakes are seized on they are bad for this. A easy check is jack the car up take the hand brake off and try and turn the wheels by hand. Mines were almost solid and I could hardly move them by hand. My consumption never when down to the teens though but I lost a good 10mpg because of the brakes.
