Central locking problem

Post by M@Turner »

Posted on the mk5 section aswell!

When opening my car, the central locking motor appears to continue working instead of shutting off! Meaning a very annoying noise! Although when locking my car, the motor activates the locks but then turns off!!!! :?

Have any of you guys had a similar problem, or know of a cure?

Cheers

Mine done it.

Turned out when i opened the front door that the connection thing (u know what i mean - goes from the door to the car and has all the wires in it) well that was a bit lose - tightend it up and it sorted it - it was a wee yellow pipe that was doing it - i guess thats the pipe for the air to pass through :D

Sorry, heading out so was quick.

mine was the same.......means you have an air leak somewhere and the pumop thinks it needs to carry on pushing air thru.

BEWARE....if it happens for too long and dont shut off it gets extremely hot and starts to smoke - not a good thinkg obviously

Keep your eye out and if it carries on too long pull the plug on the motor until cooled down.

Cheers for your replies guys!

Have got the weekend off as its my Birthday so shall look into this!

Seems to be playing up big time though! Sometimes it works fine, then not at all, then it works after a bit of a struggle! Bloody thing!

Cheers
