Many mile to approx 20L of Otimax ?

Post by sorted »

Alright.

Seems like the GTi has a drinking problem, about 20L gets about 100 miles .. does that seem right?

Just before i change the coolant temp sensor (as it reads 0 sumtimes), is it normal to get that ?

I had the 1.4 and a 10er got about 100 miles, so dunno if its just the GTi being normal as its OVI fast / more petrol!

I got a full tank to 250, is that right ? LOL

Neildo.

well its doing 22.7 mpg

but to effectivly work out what your doing you'd need to top it up completely and run it to empty

mines averaging at 33.3mpg this week with a mix of town and out of town driving.

however it fluctuates in both directions!

what conditions is that driving? a random question are you running your climate at 21 degrees auto?

I find that anywhere between 250-350 can be acheived from a full tank, all just depends on what type of driving you're doing and how you're doing it.

The most I have personally had is about 320 with about half of that being motorway miles.

I usually get between 320 and 330 miles to a full tank. It was doing around 280-290, then i tried some of that power boost stuff (the 2 aerosol's you spray in to your throttle body) thinking it wouldn't do anything, but it improved my mpg by loads. It also improved throttle response significantly, so i'd recommend it.

The most i've had was 375miles on a tank, which was all motorway driving, at an average of around 80mph.

if you run the climate as advised in the manual you gain better mpg mines increased from 24mpg to 33mpg (and ive not replaced my temp sensor as the garage advised tryin other things first!)

Thats 2 weeks of my mum driving her so its not erratic.

Also i can push up to 400 to a tank on long journeys aslong as i stick to speed limits

it all depends

i usually get around 260 per tank, thats with climate control off and a lot of stop/start action from congested roads...

i usually get 300 - 350 til lite comes on. always use v-power stuff. (faint every time coz of price)!!!
ref climate control, a friend who works for an air con co recommends that you should have your air con on between 19 and 21 degrees, while driving. below slows your brain, and over increases it too much??????? :? :?

I put 20 litres of BP Ultimate in my Polo a few days ago after reading this thread. So far have done 106 miles and have only used about two thirds of the fuel that went in. So I am forecasting about 130-140 miles until the light comes on? Thats from a mix of urban and motorway driving all by the same driver (me).
