Got the cambelts, and tensioners changed car has only done 28000 miles but is 7 years old so got it done, £120 for the parts and £70 to fit, not bad as the vag stealer wanted £341 to do it
car feels alot better now, but not the wallet
i did the belt on my mk2 golf gti myself £15 all in, newer cars are great but hard on the wallet

it cost me about £60-80 for the full gti cam tensioner and belt kit from gsf and the water pump i think was about £20 with discount...
Its a pretty tough job to do with the engine still in the bay tbh...so not surprised on hefty labour costs.
I was lucky in the fact my engine was out so it was a 40min job.
I'd definately change the water pump because the OE one uses a plastic impeller wheel inside the engine, and the replacement from GSF uses a metal one which won't break down and block your water ways causing the engine to overheat...just like on 20vt's.
