After several months of hunting for the perfect GTI I think I found it...

Test drove it on Thursday...picked it up today... Done 130 miles in it so far and cant wipe the smile off my face!

Think it was a good deal as well....51 plate with 45,300 miles, 1 lady owner from new (I have the origional sales receipt from when she bought the car), full stamped and up to date VW service history and appart from a couple of stone chips and the usual coroded rims the car is mint...Even has two brand new tyres on the front and a big box of receipts...

Im really chuffed with it...Just hope it doesnt suprise me by dropping the engine out the bottom or something!!!

Will sort some pics out at some point if it stops raining...

Need to wash it and then sort out the stone chips and give it a proper pollish!

sounds like a sweet deal!! welcome to the club. what colour and how many doors? was about to say "130 miles in one day!?!!" but i probs did double that the first day too haha. looking forward to seeing sum pics

Its a three door in red...one of the rarer ones IMHO :-)

It was a 103 mile journey back from picking it up, and then 30 miles or so messing about once I got home showing the car off...

I would of loved a Red one but oh well. It's great when you finally find one. I remember my first night, couldn't wipe the smirk off my face! :lol:
