I have a BMC air filter and standard exhaust, was just wondering if anyone has one and a stainless exhaust?
Does the exhaust note drown out the subtle tone of the BMC or is it amplified through the exhaust?
I don't think a visible exhaust looks too great on the polo. I'm trying to find something that isn't visible, makes a good sound and sits hidden under the bumper. Even if I have to cut the tailpipes off something that doesnt fit right. I heard powerflow are good but they aint cheap
BMC & Exhaust sound`
I have a BMC and a custom stainless steel Powerflow cat-back system
The answer is basically that yes, the aftermarket exhaust system amplifies the standard tone of the engine. This is most especially at around the 3700-3900 revs mark, equivalent to motorway cruising speed of 80mph in 5th
but I have grown used to the extra noise...
As for the BMC, feedback from other GTi owners suggests that other than some small increase in volume, there is no difference until you get up to 5000 revs and up, where on my car it is louder than on a GTi that has BMC and a standard exhaust.
Cheers
