2nd gearbox rebuild

1st Orig box
2nd refurb on the first
3rd 32 days later its gone again...

The joys, is there anyway i can get an uprated box - this is doing my head in !!

Just get it rebuilt with all the bearings replaced, generally speaking most places that sell a "refurbed" box are selling you a 2nd hand one that has been removed from a written off car that could go at any time. A rebuilt one should last at least another 60k, I beleave now that you can get a metal replacement for the plastic 5th gear bearing that is a very common fault as is the diff bearings going.

If your orignal box was actually stripped and rebuilt it should be under warranty. Some places fit another box and keep the orignal one to rebuild if its gone after a month they have rebuilt it incorrectly.

its fifth gear im having the trouble with, it was my original box that was rebuild with bearings appart. So i should mention the metal replacement maybe?

It should be looked at this weekend , and rebuilt yet again.
