how many miles on a petrol light

on average how many miles do you think i would get off the petrol light whilst travelling 70mph on the motorway?

when i say on the petrol light i mean from when the light comes on until i run out of petrol

Assuming by petrol light you mean PETROL light...

Would suggest your looking 25-30 miles depending on cicumstances...

In a diesel about 35ish - its not an exact science - I've done 37 before now, but then ran out on the forecourt - ended up pushing the last 5 yards to the pump! (was a sunday afternoon - not many places open for fuel at 4pm!)

thats positive news as my home is 26 miles away from work and i need to get home and the light came on just before i turned the engine off.

thats nothing. i managed 58 once!
i was panicking as i missed the services turn off after 25 and had ages untill next services!! lol not advisable though
50mph in 5th is the best way

Yer I've managed 40/50 before. Does get a bit panicky.
