Creaking sound around corners

Post by Dan_Gti »

Guys, did a search but found nothing conclusive.
I've always had a slight creaking sound whenever I went round sharp bends or went over uneven ground, took it to a local garage they couldn't find anything wrong.
Took it to VW a short while later whilst getting some minor repairs done and mentioned the creaking noise to the technician, he took a look and again found nothing wrong.
The noise is certainly much louder now and even makes the noise when going round small bends

It doesn't matter whether its a left or right hand turn and the noise seems to come from both the front and rear of the car......

Does anyone have an idea what it could be :?:

sometimes when u get noises like that the only thing you can do is wait until they get noticeably bad. Often you can hear noises with your own car that other people can't, cos you're so used to how it sounds.

The paranoises

Does it sound like it is inside the cabin or outside?

Could just be the dash or the seat creaking. I know mine make quite a lot of noise.

Sounds like a rubber bushing is on its way out somewhere....

Wouldnt worry too much until it gets worse...

Cheers for the replies. Will take a look at the bushes this weekend when I'm fitting my new rear discs and pads.......

If they have just started to creak then chances are there wont be any visible play...

When my last polo started to creak I just bought a complete set of bushes (including anti roll) and fitted them one weekend....made a hell of a difference....that polo had done over 100,000 miles though....

Was a b***h of a job though!
