To add to the above...
Corrosion on the BBS split wheels is normal...
Corrosion on the boot handle is also the norm on some cars...
I forget what the cambelt interval is now, 30K?!?!?..something like that...make sure its been done along with the waterpump..
I would recomend driving at least three different Polo GTI's before you buy one...have a close look at lots of different ones, that way you know whats normal and whats not etc...
I think I looked over and testdrove two different polos and the third one I drove simply blew my load, so I bought it...havnt stopped smiling since...
To be fair, just have a read through the GTI section of this forum and you will soon see the kinda problems that come up,.....
If you dont know anything about cars, take someone with you who actually knows what they are looking at..
Good luck and good hunting!

Keep in the back of your mind "there are plenty more out there that might be better"....dont rush in and push your cash into someones hand until you are 110% sure!
i'd prefer one in red tbh, dont fancy another black car cause it takes too much cleaning! lol

It's 3500, not 1500. See here:MaxZ wrote:Only 1500 GTis brought into UK, 500 in each colour. I travelled 280 miles to get my one.

If you look on the VOSA recall website regarding the GTi pedalbox, it states "numbers involved" as 3497.
http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recall ... 9F00500877
As far as I'm aware VOSA only applies to UK vehicles, so the 3497 would be the number of UK cars affected by the recall.
