Post by Demo_202 »

Looking at upgrading my mk5 to one of these... but it'd need votex 8)

Which models come with this, if any?
And how much am I looking at to buy/paint and fit this?

None, it's an option on even the GT. You'll have to find one with it as an option. They are about (I saw one when I was looking).

I bought mine for £200 and got it fitted and my sidestrips painted for £360. I prepped the strips though.

£560 well spent IMO. That includes the bootlid spoiler.

Going rate is about 250 for the full kit from what I've heard, you could get GTI skirts and rear valance if you want cheaper alternatives.

I think you'd be doing well to get it all done for under £500. I had some crazy quotes for painting the kit, just got to be patient.

not much to look out for, just make sure you check everything works!

The 9n3 GTi skirts only really work with a black car bcos without a front votex spoiler it doesnt look like youve actually done anything to the car.

The GTi sideskirts come in rough matt black plastic (so dont know if you can colour code them) and when you put a front votex spoiler on (the votex spoiler is bulky and adds length) it doesnt match if u have anything but a black 9n.

Look at Davids' sig and my car that has the GTi s/s for a better idea..
(my car below, page 3)

However if you choose not to do anything to the front then ur ok..

Thats what I think anyway..

just picked the missus car up yesterday after having one fitted and having everything on the car colourcoded black. Il get some pics on here this week after the alloys have come  .
Car looks sweet with the front with the top and bottom grill shiny black and all the bumpstrips done and also had the b pillar rubbed down and painted.
The kit cost me £275 delivered (from a company who buy surplus vw parts(sorry can remember the name)) and i paid £300 to have it fitted and painted and all the colour coding
It looks a completely different car now, so much sportier. Im not a huge fan of the standard one but a little bit of work they look very smart IMO :D
Gonna need lowering asap with the wheels on (be charged £400 road tax otherwise  ), anyone fancy a group buy on Eibach pro springs (pretty please lol)
