Newbie here! And I've got a 1.4tdi!

Hey guys, there doesn't seem to be a newbie section here so i thought I'd just start a thread here on the 9N polo section.

So yeah I'm currently driving a 2003 mk4 1.2s Ibiza in black but I've been given a 53plate 1.4tdi pd polo! It's silver and it's a 5door and I've swapped it with my sister. It's got a biggish dent and a scratch all along one side

but apart from that it's pretty nifty.

Just saying hello and was wondering what possible mods I can do to the car?

My first priority is a remap but I'm not too sure what company to go for. One that comes to me and uploads it onto the ecu is required really.

Also what cosmetic mods are availible? as I find the bubbly polo a bit tame in the styling department.

Hi mate,

Speak to Dino - he's had his car remapped by RichardBW, very good prices depending on where you are and if you get a group of people together.

I've also had mine remapped by Richard and it's worth the money - not a drastic improvement but very noticable at the higher revs! Knocked over 2 seconds off my 30-70mph time.

try dentmaster for your dent as they took out two i had on my car, one on the bonnet and one on the rear quarter Â£50 great job too , as for mods the bloody list is endless but as you say get your remap and go from there, i`m going to use angel tuning for mine i think, as they come to your door and do it hth

Welcome - remap from RichardBW is definitely worth it. Mine is now pretty much on par with the 1.9TDi power wise (as tested against my friends). I see you're in wales which i would say is quite far for him to travel but he does go to a few shows if you ever make it to any?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll put up some pics as soon as I give the old polo a proper cleaning and polishing. I've got some 17" Leon FR alloys on my ibiza at the moment and was thinking of transferring them onto the polo. Would this drastically kill any performance gains after a remap? Would this coupled with coilovers scrub the arches?

Sorry dont mean to ask so many questions but I really wana sort out the 5door shopping mobile/ daily driver into something to be proud of.

I was thinking of going for either CC, Revo, Angel tuning or Jabbasport since they were the most discussed companies on the seat forum.
