i really have no clue about this stuff and want a good sounding system but cheap, not 'good for the money' though lol

any help appriciated, or any links for some other goodly priced stuff 8)

I have no clue about car audio, but I know enough to steer well clear of the Mutant gear. I would go for something like this and a decent amplifier or maybe something like this .

Dono about the Mutant audio but have also heard its not all that.
But check out www.caraudiosecurity.com, theyve got enuff subs and amps at cheap prices..

if your after something cheap and good ive got a sub and amp 4 sale that came out my old polo, the amp is a 5 channel sony xplod, and i dnt no wot make the sub is but its 12" and 650 watts and is f*ucking loud! you cna have em both for £60 if your interested

cheers guys, i'm going on holiday soon and the parents are giving me some money so might just not buy anything on holiday and spend the cash on the car :lol:

whats the main thing to look for when getting a sub/amp?

i've been looking at the wattage?? :lol:

Component quality is essential. Ive got an alpine amp and that works really well, but fusion and mutant and all that are made from cheap parts, causing interference and other irritating problems plus a decreased lifetime

stick to brands such as kicker, Jbl & alpine for subs...apparently vibe are on their way up as well...you generally get what you pay for ignore the max power output...it means nothing if its a s**t sub..

Nothing wrong with fusion cabling though! even if their components are shocking!
