I cleaned my throttle body out and it did a make a bit of a difference, but i've been having quite a few problems ever since i cleaned it, my car now judders quite a bit when i switch it off and when i turn it on it revs itself up to 1500-2000rpm if its warm but doesnt do it when cold. I have reset my ecu quite a few times, and driven way more than a 100miles, what is the proper way of sorting the throttle body timing out? is there a way to do it with vagcom?

thanks,
Haris

i went to clean my throttle body with this stuff yesterday, and my dad said that the valve never opened much at all, it obviously opened slightly cos the spray stuff liquid got sucked through - but i was thinking the valve should have opened fully as i was hitting pretty high revs. what have you guys experienced?

I tried some 10k boost on Friday, and didn't notice any difference (Ive still got half of it in my tank though).

The on Saturday I cleaned my TB. I left the engine off and used carb cleaner and a toothbush and a rag to clean the butterfly. It was filthy in there (I hope to hell that gloopy oily residue that went down the intake doesnt clog something else up).

I noticed an immediate difference to the car, The idle was fine as always but the 1st and 2nd gear judder at low revs has gone and the car will now pull smoothly in 1st or 2nd without me applying the gas. Also the annoying metallic whirring sound I got when lifting off the gas has stopped, and the car responds quicker to small changes in the amount of throttle.

Im happier with my GTI now than ive ever been before, well except for that warning light.

its just something gtis like doing showing poxy lights on the dash. just a excuse for vw to fob you off with a bill for clearing a light.
