A sad moment...

Post by Randall »

Hey Peeps,

I am afraid this is a bit of a sad moment where i have to let go of my dear Polo.

It hasnt been safe to drive for the last two/three weeks. I have asked a friend of the family to take a look at it for me. I was in shocked to hear the conclusion of the findings

The following items are faulty and need replacing: -

-Clutch
-Gearbox
-Full Exhaust excluding the manifold

She is coming up to her 7th birthday and has done me very proud. Loving the meets and shows we have had and maybe one day i shall return to the scene. Doing my homework looking through second hand sales and sites such as parkers, i feel i would be better off to sell her until such a time where i may need another motor.

Rich

If you fancy going to E38; I'll gladly give you a lift. Shows wouldn't be the same without you :)

I'm sure it was mentioned before but someone on the ED38 forum is flogging a fully reconed box....and a standard exhaust wouldn't be too bad to buy....leaving you with a clutch...

ive had a couple of quotes for the work but think i'd be better off selling it - only really drove it 2/3 times a week and all me mates drive so should be OK.

Yeah i'm going to see if i can still make E38 - just trying to think of ways of getting there. I may just take Oli up on his offer :D

have you not got a 1.4 8v?? Cos i have a reconned 1.4 8v box if you like, obviously with a fresh clutch in it.....would save you alot more than if you got a recconned from a company

You'll easy be able to find an exhaust from a scrappy.....you'd be able to get a GTI one, 1.4 16v from mk4 or mk5 or 1.4 8v(if thats what you have) there are plenty polos scrapped!
