Head warped
I think that my head might be warped as i am loosing oil but i have had a new head gasket put on, so its not that. I am getting the head skimmed will i gain any more power from this.
No you wont as the polo engine has a flat head design and the combustion chamber is cast into the pistons. If the combustion chamber was cast into the head, then by skimming it, you would increase the compression ratio to a small ammount which in theory would get you some more power.
if your cylinder head is warped you can check this just by using a a good quality metal ruler and feeler gauges. if you put the ruler on its edge across the face of the cylinder head, and you see light between the head and ruler then the head is distorted. the feeler gauge will let you measure the ammount of distortion.
where exactly is the oil coming from?
