Haris - Green Polo 6n2 - The DriveByShooters Shoot - pg27

Post by h4r1s »

hi,

Thought i'd start a progress thread since my car has been thorough quite a few changes, and still has a lot to go through before i believe i'll be finished

Here is what my car looked like when i bought it in feb 2006, standard grandad polo :)

Image

Image
My god look how high up it is

Anyway now this is what it looked like before i starting working on my car this summer

Image

Image

here's some of the stuff that's been going on to the car over the past month or two...

Image
Quality Hid Kit at a superb price thanks to alexperkins, and various leds and black side indicators thanks to maxZ  Remote central locking kit was from ebay, plates from groupbuy on clubpolo and plate holders from dubmeister

Image
Hids 8)

Image
Lights tinted professionally by someone on ebay

Image
boot solenoid from ebay which i still can't get to work properly

Image
delocked handles which just need spraying now

Image
We'll see how this turns out once it's been at the bodyshop

Image
And finally dewipered + newly tinted lights

Plans for the next month, Coilovers to get the stance right, completely smoothing the car and a full respray and eventually some streched rubber but still have no idea what size i need :?

Nice job so far mate! Where did you source the rear wiper blank? I need one of those too :D

The lights look great, I reckon that, judging by the quality of the finish, its the same eBayer that did my standard 6n2 lights. It seems to suit the LED ones better though

Keep up the good work 8)

I got mine of ebay for about £16 for the set. You can request black plastic or pre-primed ones. - that was for my 9n tho. Would be surprised if you coudn't get mk5 ones on there for a similar price.

I was expecting them to be primed, i've had a look everywhere to find them cheaper but couldn't find them anywhere except for at dealers and vagparts

Thanks, got the rubber blank from halfords for about a £1 for a pack of 3, biggest size they got is the one you need, easily the cheapest mod i've done and cleans the rear end up nicely

I've got about 9 rubber blanks sitting in the shed, I'll bring a couple to ED38 on Sunday and you can have one for FREE

*Updates*

Got my coilovers fitted
Image

Before
Image

Coilovers set to the lowest setting at the front, stupid amounts of lowerage
Image

Image

After
Image

Image

My mud flaps still scrape on everything :? and my steering wheel alignment is way out, that should get sorted through tracking and camber right? And will adjusting coilovers mess up the camber and tracking after it has been done?

Other bits that still need painting or just need to be stuck on, Engine cover, getting colour coded, door led, black mk4 golf tweeter trim, inside of badge getting colour coded, stubby euro mirror and finally mk4 black mirror which Alex is sourcing me (Thanks!) Btw does it matter which way i stick the brown and white wire on the mirror.

Image

Cleaning stuff i've bought to keep the car looking shiny and new once i get it back from the bodyshop. I'm new to all this cleaning your car properly so to say, so i'm supposed use soap-rinse-clay-polish-then use sealant or the vice versa with polish and sealant :?

Image

My car has hit a 100k
Image

Car is going into the bodyshop tommorrow morning 8) Can't wait :!:

Thanks, Hope you like,

Haris
