A very bad day for the polo

Post by shantybeater »

Hi guys, went to a festival on the weekend, parked my car up safe and sound next to 3000 other cars, although it was near the entrance. Came back to be welcomed with this: (i apologise for the car being filthy)

Someone has literally "stabbed" a key into the back of my boot! I'm so f**king angry!! and by the look and shape of it i cant get it ironed out and it would cost a bomb along with the respray. Anyone got any ideas? i'm popping to the local bodyshop tomorrow although I have little faith. I assume my best bet is to search scrappies for a whole new boot.

Just to top that off though some little chav has stolen one of my RM caps which i am yet to see on ebay or anywhere else with a black outer rim

That just shows that some people just have no respect for other people's property. Best bet would probably be to find another boot, and to top it off locks would need swapping over. Some people should really be punished for all this.

Gutted for you mate  some people are just d**kheads!!

But just a tip for next time you park your car somewhere you've never been, is to take off thing that a T**T might want to nick i.e. centre caps, small aerials and chrome tyre valves, I do that every time when I leave my car for long periods of time.

A bit like Alex_6n2 at Ultimate Dubs, he came back to find that someone had nicked one of his fog light grilles.

You don't expect it at a dub show really.

Hope it doesn't cost ya too much mate.

MaxZ - Damn i didnt think about the locks, but i assume that wouldnt be too expensive compared to a respray and ironing out the dents!

New B - I usually do take my caps and valves off but didnt this once! typical!

Tom - cheers matey, lets hope not :(

Another thing I didnt mention is just before I got there i came onto a single carriageway and was going around 70, and a wingmirror in the middle of the road got clipped by an oncoming car, which then flew directly into the right side of the bumper causing some nasty marks...it then went under the car and caught the front axel making the right side of the car to jump in the air.....god knows what damage that has done...today has been a rubbish day....

To swap the locks over they'd probably only need to take the handle off your boot and fit it to the new one.

I wish i could just shoot every single on of those who do things like this. Its awful!

Body shop should be able to hit it out, fill the gaps and respray Jimbo, and id say it should all cost less than £150 to do (the work on mine only cost £180 and that was a nasty dent i had in the side of the car!!)

Bunch of arseholes. Get some prices and compare them to how much it would be to getting a second hand tailgate

cheers guys, will get a quote on it tomorrow, might also contact some scrap yards...but to be honest im a poor student and dying to get the polo dropped, it may take a back seat for now as there are quite a few dings i wouldnt mind getting sorted all at once when i can afford it.

tomo - global was good, but the car has brought a major downer on the weekend, especially as it was expensive enough with out the chav's making it worse. as for the center caps, i will get the flat ones at some point but will prob look out for a single silver cap, there were some on german ebay but unfortunately they finished a few days back. looks like the outer black rings have just been spray painted so not difficult to do!
