New BBC iPlayer..... sucks..

Post by Bryony84 »

I thought this was a great idea until I tried it, been using channel 4's version quite happily for ages.

So far I've registered for iPlayer, then waited 2 days to be 'invited to join' by the BBC! Finally got into the site and logged in with the extremely random username and numeric password and found the top gear from last week which I stupidly missed most of! All fine, clicked download and it told me if didn't like firefox... so I went through the whole thing again with IE (rookie mistake i guess). So I go back to topgear and click download again after having to enter the random user details (which it seems you can't change) again. Now I have to download a library program, this is fairly quick and painless unlike the rest of it. Back to the topgear page I go, click download again and it tells me I'm not logged in (I've lost count of the number of times I've logged in in the last 15mins). So I enter the random details once again and it says 'password to short', this is the password they gave me...!!!

They obviously want me to suffer for this top gear ep!!

Hello!

I have the the same identical problems as you!

Got mine sorted now, the User and Password they send you is just your BETA login, once you are logged into the BBCi home page you have to the "Sign Up" which means creating a user name etc etc.

This does not eliminate your BETA user and pass, you still have to use that to get into the library.

So in theory, you have to log in twice every time you go!!!

Bit mad but if you get confused, give me a shout!
