as above wanted to know wot the difference was with polo gti's with red gti and ones with red gt and silver i? as mine is all red and as far as i know it is never been changed.

Guessing you mean the badges.

Some of the very early GTi's featured all red badges, I know some of the early press cars did.

There should be no mechanical difference with ones that have silver/red badges.

yer sorry i did mean the badges. and i think mine was a showroom car.

I'm with Redline, afaik the earlier models came with the all red then they changed to 2 chrome 1 red.

Doesn't symbolise any differences with the car.

In the early days of the Mk4 Golf, a red I indicated a turbo, but then they introduced more power levels and gave up on a specific badging scheme.

Very early Polos have all red badging which is very rare

cool mine is all red front and back its on a 2000 is there different engines in the gti or are they just the same but with different engine codes?

There are two different engine codes, ARC and AVY.

Essentially the same, but the later engine AVY was tuned for slightly different emissions to comply with EU legislation. Other than that I don't believe there are any real differences.

Some 2001 cars have ARC engines. Mine was registered March 2001 and has an AVY
