passenger window

Post by markdavies »

does anybody else have a problem where by they cant do there passenger side window up in one go. i mean when its down and you pull the switch up on either the drivers or passenger side, the window goes up half way and then scrolls back down on its own accord?? i think its a safety feature or limp mode thing that kicks in

also seems weird because it only does this when the engine is running. because if im sat on me drive with just the ignition on it goes up and down as it should. so i dont think the wiring side of things is dodgey, would vagcom be able to help me out?? if so what cable would i need

I get this aswell mate, seems the motor is struggling to take it all the way up ? i'm just hoping it may be something in the door caught, be meaning for ages to take the door card off and have a look, but cant really be bothered at the minute, i just stop it before it thits the point it comes back down, then bring it up some more lol

yeah but its geting to that stage where by i want it fixed and got all weekend to do some od jobs. i did try to take the door card off to see if there was anything i could do but couldnt figure how to get the door card off without snapping anything. im sure the motors ok as it goes up and down at some speed but was reading on the tech page about greasing the runners to make it easier for the window to go up and down.

can anyone else shed some light on this matter??

Theres a few screws you have to take off to get the card of mate, behind the handle there is 2 and also if you open the door completely there is one on the edge closest to the door.

Think thats all that it is it just needs some help, as the safety part only kicks in when there is force on the window.
