Alex, did you use the hammerite stuff in a spray can, or the little tub which you need to apply with a brush? looks like a top job that does, mine are rusty as hell and need sorting out. Can i use hammerite for the front calipers as well, or won't it be able to handle the heat?

Thanks, Haris

noooo dont hammerite the front calipers. Get folia tec red brake caliper paint - its fantastic. Hammerite cant withstand the heat for one, and it wont go on amazingly smooth.

The hammerite for the back was the black direct to rust in a tin which you apply with a brush. remember to not over apply it as it will run - its also a cellulose based paint so you cant apply another coat until its non tacky/semi dry.

Itll take about a day to harden completely, so you really need to do it when you can just put the car up on axle stands and leave it!

Hope this helps.

Pics of the wheels on the car to follow shortly :D

Does the folia tec paint come in silver/grey/black and where would be the best place to get it from?

Thanks, Haris

comes in every colour you can imagine!! Ask jimbo (shantybeater). I borrowed his paint!

Just search for it on google its about £26 for the set of the paint, hardener and the cleaning spray.

Also recommend investing in a good wire brush!
