Not sure if it helps but I had to have arch work done on mine, lowered 60mm, on 15x7.5 wheels with ET 25.

I think theres a strong possibility you'd need arch work if you lowered.

I'm currently sat on BBS rx's which are 15" and spaced 10mm all round...iirc the rx's are 6.5"...so my wheels with spacers are around 6.75"...

and they scrape now...hmm...arch work or alot of raising then

I would have thought so yeh, mine I had to have the arches rolled costing about £100, they don't scrub on bumps and most corners now, only slightly if i hit a big pothole or take a corner too fast.

I had et 35 7.5 x 16's, It didnt scrub too bad, was lowered around 80mm possibly more at the time. Et20 WILL scrub all round if your low. My 8j et20 fronts scrub. When they were on the back they also scrubbed. If you try and get some 185 tyres then it may not be too bad. Actually, now i think about it even with 195/40r16's it probably wouldn't be too bad.

This was my 16's...

I will 100% say you'll need your arches at least rolled!!
