Ho hum at the least they look good at the end of it all.A general clean.....
What I tend to find is that you should keep the car wet through out washing to avoid water marks then when it comes to drying go over a panel once or twice to remove most of the water, but don't keep going over since then it'll start to smear as you say. Hope that of some help, it becomes obvious when you've done it couple of times
A microfibre drying towel is MUCH better than a chamois (I've never had much success with those pieces of hide). There are plenty of good ones out there, I have this (it's as big as a bath towel) and it is very good. Yeh I saw that pray stuff adertised in FC. Bridges the gap between wash and wax it was saying, will have to check it out.
