ummmm, nope!

The arches were easy, could do another pair in half a day. The bumper however is taking ages to get right!

Cheers buddy! You comin e38 to see the beast?

Little bit of an update. The doors now sorted, So it shuts lovely, the skirt underneath it has been repaired. Both the rear swage lines under the rear lights have been prepped and are finished. The front bumper is finished and prepped. Both doors have had some dents filled, as has one rear quarter and a frong wing. One rear arch/bumper side is near completion, not much left on that side. Also have smoothed the lug out of the filler cap

Still to do:
Other rear arch/bumper side
Finish smoothed tailgate
Finish off sideskirt ends
Re-smooth rear bumper
and i think thats about it.

Re-spray is hopefully weekend of the 18th, so lots to do in not much time (i work 11hours a day and am in the middle of re-decorating a bedroom)

I have a back up plan just incase i cant get it sprayed for e38, which will also be an interesting concept!

Is there a stand going down at all? I'm going up with a few mates, but would like to stick it on a stand if theres a ukp one.

Edit- Just seen the thread, lucky i caught on it, am number 19 out of 20!

Bedroom cant wait, old mans a pain in the ass. Cant wait till i can finally move out!

If i cant finish it in time, out come the matt black aerosols!

I was hoping to get my new interior by then too, but the bloody suppliers let me down. Still unsure as to weather to go for white leather or black leather and red alcantara.

So then, gotta little work done over the last few days/weeks. Hopefully all is set for spraying on saturday. Will continue to update this though.

Firstly, the most major job is nearly complete. The arches. Lots (and i mean LOTS!) of re-shaping has taken place to both arches, and the bumper to allow it to all match up nicely. As you can see from the pics the angle of the rear bumper has been altered in order to allow the bumper to match up snuggly.

Been having to drive round in this shoddy old merc for the last few days, cant wait to get the polo back on the road!

Tailgate's all been finished...

Image

Front bumper is all sorted...

Rear quarters are all but finished...

Filler cap has all been smoothed (sorry tom!)

Check out the girth on the badboy!

This pic shows the angle the bumper now sits at. It was taken before the arch was finished, so its been modified a little since.

Looking good Andy 8)

I'm gonna have to go back to the bodyshop at some point because I've got a bit of bubbling on the filler cap that's just appeared.

He's a good old bloke and does do a good job but I think I'll try somewhere else next time.

Full respray at some point as well in the same colour.

Gonna 2k high build the repaired parts, flat back then 2k prime the whole car. Mask the car and spray the roof, then mask the roof and spray the car. Then laquer the whole thing. Not gonna spray the stripes anymore, just incase i go off them so am gonna get some vinyls made up.

Bad news about the cap tom, though i really cant see how you can mess it up, its such an easy job! Mine took about 10 minutes to do!

It's been fine, it looked 100% when I picked it up.

I only noticed it yesterday, still once it's sorted it's on to the next thing.

Roof lining, B and C pillars retrimmed in Alcantara, full exterior respray in Reflex Silver :D

Interior sounds nice, full respray? Why not smooth the rubbing strips and widen the arches at the same time? And why reflex silver, make it more interesting!

I'm aiming to keep it looking as OEM as possible, and I love the way Reflex Silver looks when it's clean 8)

Rubstrips will be something I'll ask about when it gets done, as well as something else
