security system ????

Hi ladies and gents
I'm new to the forum(which is excellent by the way) and have just bought my wife a 1.2 S on a 03 plate
can anyone tell me what sort of security features this vehicle has???
Iunderstand there is an immobiliser as standard but can find no sort of siren for an alarm system
Does this model have one???

IIRC if the car has remote central locking, then it will have an alarm - I have not see the alarm horn on my wife's car - they are usually well hidden, and if its got the factory fit central locking a horn is what it will have not a siren. (but there again I have not tried to activate the alarm to see if the horn works!)

My 03 9n has the factory fitted remote central locking with immobiliser and alarm... the siren has never been found, but then I've not really looked for it! I can guarantee it works though because if I lock the car with the window open a crack it will sound after about 3 mins!

Oh how I miss the Cat 1 full closure I had on my old Mk3 Golf Gti 16v!!

Unfortunatley ours locks from the key only.....I noticed that you can buy a remote locking upgrade from Vagparts.com for £96+vat
If I fitted this would this enable any form of horn, warning of a break-in or is it purely for the benefit of keyless entry????
