Full re-trims

Post by gazmangti »

Hi guys,

Been thinking now that the exterior is how I want it. I have been thinking of splashing out for a full leather retrim with red gti logos stitched into the seats.

I have never been keen on the design of the seats with the arrows.

Just wondering if any of you guys have had one done and the costs involved. Would I be right thinking that it costs about 1k?

Cheers
Gaz

Depends where you go and how much you're getting trimmed.

The price I got was

Front and Rear Seats - £780+ VAT (leather and alcantara)
Doorcards - £600+ VAT (leather and alcantara)
Parcel Shelf and the plastic bits either side - £250+ VAT (leather)
Rear plastic boot trim - £120+ VAT (alcantara)

Got a price for the headlining as well.

Headlining and pillars - £450+ VAT (alcantara)

This was from www.ClassicCarServices.co.uk the leather is what Aston Martin, Jaguar and Saab are using at the mo 8)

Didn't realise how much doorcards alone were, did you get a quote on any other things Tom? Like massagers/heaters/coolers being put into the seats. I'm really tempted to get the fronts retrimmed with massagers built in.

Silly question but what do you mean by alcantara?

Here you go mate :D

Q: What is alcantara?

A: Alcantara is a man made, synthetic material which looks like suede. It is washable and a lot harder wearing than natural suede.

Q: Is it more expensive than leather?

A: It is slightly more expensive than leather.

With regard to the re-trim on the door cards, is that for the full door card or just the red/leather arm rest bit?

If you get the chance Alun, can you ask about putting the massagers in the front seats. Really really want to know prices
