advise please

Got a V-reg gti with the gearbox on the way out!! Done 106k so not bad for its 1st box but the timing is rubbish as i was thinking of selling. So should i sell as is and take abit less or pay for box to be reconned and keep another 6-12 months. What is my car worth in its current state, its a 5-door lowered with scorpion exhaust in very good nick with 2 family owners from new, vw history to about 80k?

If it was standard then Â£3000 but as its not then maybe a bit less.

It is a bit tight selling it with the gearbox on its way out.

I was thinking of doing it but decided to get it done in the end.

If i could get Â£2500 as is id be happy i think.

On the flip side how much did it cost you to have the box reconned? or did you get a second hand unit?

new box and clutch fitted was best part of Â£900.

Yeah with the mods i would say Â£2200-Â£2500
