Seems to be the same fault codes as what mine is. I would think you would have to replace the whole thing / motor rather than the wiring from what i saw from a ETKA diagram of the motor. Costs around £60 for a genuine one.

Maybe yours is totally gone though as its not intermittent like mine.

30-10 - Open / short to b+ was a proper fault

and

29-10 - Short to ground was intermittent.

Anyone know where this air flap lives?
I'll probably try cleaning the sensors / lecky plugs on it first, always a good place to start!
I do think the flap is busted though! :x
Was that £60 from VW or a vag parts place?

Oh well, it won't stop me from getting my re-map tomorrow!! :D

Right, after trawling through Elsawin I've come up with the following stuff:

This is a general overview of the Climatic system with its various components

This one shows how to remove the V154 motor

This one shows how to install the V154 motor

This one shows how to remove the blower

And finally, this one shows how to remove the glovebox to get at the blower

If there's anything else you want just let me know :)

Cheers Mike, seems like good software there!!

Ah, so its all hidden behind the glove box then........

Yesterday the bloody thing decided to work, just to confuse me even more!

I will have a play with the fan and motor using those diagrams over the next week and I'll report back on my findings!

I'll also fill you in on how the re-map goes :D

Sorry to drag up an old thread! How did you get on Meeker?

Mine has decided it sometimes along wants to blow out very hot air what ever the dial is set at and even with AC off and fan speed dial set to 0 it still blows out hot air (have to turn the vents off to stop the car getting like a sauna!)

Takes about 10 mins for it to return to normality and let me control the temp - but is a right PITA as you can imagine. I had my air recirc motor replaced about 18 months ago.

Basically after getting it on VAG-COM and diagnosing it as the temp control flap motor and recirc fan motor I took it to VW (as the 3rd party warranty I've got needs confirmation from a garage) who did exactly the same and charged £50 for the pleasure.

They then called the warranty people and 'lo' and behold' they don't cover the motors!! I asked VW how much it would cost for them to fix it and it's £650  and they weren't 100% sure that this would cure the prob.

I would do it myself but it involves stripping the dash / steering wheel etc.
So I'm gonna wait till i win the Lottery!!

On a plus side it's on fully hot when It blows so its not a problem for winter!

I've just spent the £££ on a re-map and private plates instead :D :D :D

Lol, I know what you mean mate, I've had experience with third party warranties before and they are just false economy. They seem to cover everything but not what goes wrong for some reason?!?

Holy thread revival batman!!!!
I have just had the flap motor and the temp motor fixed on my Mrs car. I got it fixed by an independent for £288 (I aint paying the bill  ) The temp motor is a right pig to do the dash is meant to come out but he managed it without doing that.
